Best Places To Travel In Florida During The Fall

Fall is here!! Living in Florida and looking for some great places to explore this fall? Fall is the perfect time to travel because it’s right before Florida’s busy winter season. The heat is dialed down and the cool air starts to move in. Of course, it’s not too cold to make a trip to the beach! We’ve listed some of the best places to go this season.

Check out:

Mount Dora- Located in Central Florida, this lakefront small town is a perfect place to visit in the fall. Its historic charm, which dates back to 1880 when the town was founded, appeals to tourists and locals alike. It’s known for its antique shops: a must to definitely check out when you visit. They hold an annual craft fair festival from October 23th- 24th to show off local vendors’ art work! There’s even Scott’s Maze Adventures which opens on October 1st this year. If you have children this would be a great location to check out. They also have a Country Market and Café that will open September 28, 2021. Here’s their link to their Facebook page for more information!

Amelia Island-  Ever considered riding a horse on the shoreline of Florida? Amelia Island has a couple of horseback riding businesses that take you out on the beach. You get to enjoy the amazing beach views by horseback….You might even get lucky and see dolphins swimming during your ride as well! Amelia Island is located on the northeast side of Florida just below Jacksonville. If horseback riding isn’t your thing you can still enjoy the less crowded beaches and the scenic views. The dolphins live in the area and are often spotted throughout the day.

St. Augustine- Now let’s get into the true fall spirit: haunted ghost tours! Did you know that St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States? It was founded by the Spanish in 1565! There are multiple ghost tours in town to choose from; they also have walking, trolley and boat tours. If you’re into paranormal investigations, there are also some local tours for that as well. Why not explore one of the oldest cities in the United States this fall? It’s less than a two hour drive north of Orlando!

Sanibel Island- This beautiful island is located right off the southwest coast near Fort Myers. If you’re interested in shelling, definitely take a look at visiting this island because it has such a unique position on the coast that offers one of the best shelling spots in Florida! Sanibel also offers that small town charm and is a great experience; there are almost only small businesses on the entire 12 mile island. This area can be extremely crowded over the winter months due to the busy season, so be sure to check it out this fall before it gets too busy!

These are just a few of our favorite spots to travel with the weather getting cooler. Which are you most excited to check out first?! With the limited crowding of these spots, you truly cannot go wrong with any of them! If you do decide to explore these locations, fall in love and happen to want a vacation property there, you know who to call 😉 Enjoy your Florida Fall season!
