How long have you worked for Home1st?
1 year though I feel like I have been here forever, in a good way!

What did you want to be when you “grow up”?
A lawyer. This will date me but I loved legal fiction shows as a kid like Ally McBeal.

What piece of advice would you give your 10-years younger self?
Go into Human Resources sooner. I used to be a manager for years which helps me in my current role but I feel on this side I have such a much wider view of the intricacies that it takes to run a successful business and my interest in employment law is definitely satiated by being in HR.

What word would you use to describe this chapter of your life?
Growth

What’s your favorite quote?
“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” – Oscar Wilde

What are some of your other passions/hobbies?
I am a mix of business management (certified in HR) and creativity (degree in English Lit) so though I went a different way with my career, I still write poetry and have (very) occasionally been published and performed in public.

Why Home1st? Honestly I researched the company a lot and found information on the CEO. I really liked her worldview, her grit in getting past the 08-09 recession in this industry and she’s a role model for me as a business woman and meeting her in person when I came to the company did not disappoint. For me, it’s important for the leader I report under to practice what they preach and Theresa genuinely does.
